Super Senior Slam 2023 – Come for a pickleball tournament and stay for a vacation!
A trip this summer to the Super Senior Slam in Surrey, BC, offers not only a new outdoor tournament in a pickleball hotbed but a fun vacation destination. That is, a chance to double your pleasure!
“We hope players and their families will take advantage of this extraordinary event,” tournament director Sharon Carter said. “It’s a chance to enjoy good outdoor pickleball and vacation in one of the most beautiful places in North America.”
For some participants, it will be their first tournament competition against opponents who share similar skills AND age groups. Organizers hope to attract players from British Columbia, Alberta, the Pacific Northwest, Australia, Taipei and beyond — visitors will find a bevy of Surrey attractions within a half-hour drive.
Among them:
- – Challenging golf courses such as Northview and Peace Portal.
- – South Surrey’s Crescent Beach with its eateries, wide walkways and gorgeous sunsets.
- – Quaint and historical Fort Langley.
- – Hundreds of parks, some like Crescent Park and Peace Arch Park just minutes away from the tournament site.
In addition, tourists wanting to journey a little farther can enjoy Vancouver’s Granville Island, Chinatown, Stanley Park, Gastown and various museums. Or take day trips to cozy Harrison Hot Springs or scenic Whistler, host of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Lots of options, lots of fun.
